Island Timberlands LP

Island Timberlands LP was created in late 2005 as a result of Brookfield Asset Management's $1.2 billion purchase of Weyerhaeuser's coastal forestry assets in British Columbia. This acquisition included both private timberlands and Crown land tenures. To manage these assets, Brookfield created two separate companies: Island Timberlands LP to handle the private timberlands and Cascadia Forest Products Ltd. to manage the Crown lands and related operations.
