Intellijoint Surgical Inc

Intellijoint Surgical was founded in 2010 by three University of Waterloo mechatronics engineering alumni, Armen Bakirtzian, Richard Fanson, and Andre Hladio, as a result of their fourth-year capstone design project. The project aimed to create a more user-friendly and reliable surgical navigation system for total hip arthroplasty (THA). Their flagship product, Intellijoint HIP, was designed to address the challenges surgeons face during THA, such as relying on experience and judgment for critical cuts and implant positioning.
